Painting as a hobby has always been a part of Lori Cotton's life. A few years ago, Lori opened a restaurant, Kilroy's at Smartt Airfield, close to the Mississippi River, then moved from Florissant to a house on the river. Being on the river enabled her creative outlet to blossom. A protege of Shirley Sanders, Lori developed technical skills such as: charcoal, pen & ink and Chinese brush painting. Combining the techniques of watercolor and Chinese brush painting created a distinct style. Lori discovered her artist niche in painting waterscapes with dynamic skies and distinct reflections. The views of the Mississippi continue to inspire painting of the migrations along the river.
